This Hatha Flow class is suitable for practitioners that are teen through golden years, and is designed for those familiar with beginner to intermediate asana.
Content
Enjoy flowing and meditating through asana while centering on the breath. This class includes:
• A brief seated opening meditation focused on spaciousness, balance, depth, and ease in the breath
• Joint warm-ups
• A whole-body physical practice exploring the space between asana
• A short guided deep relaxation
• A brief seated closing meditation focused on the breath
Modifications are provided to ensure accessibility for all body types, strengths, and ranges of motion (with prop guidance included).
Purpose
This class is perfect for those interested in a flow-style of Hatha yoga focused on:
• Building strength, muscle length, balance, and endurance
• Deepening the awareness of the connection between breath and body
• Fine-tuning proprioception (your awareness of your body’s position in space)
Props
Please bring:
• A mat, block(s), blanket(s), and a strap (any or all may be used during class)
• A folding chair or cushions (helpful for accessibility, mobility, or stillness challenges)
Household items like rugs, blankets, pillows, or belts can be substituted with a little creativity.
Preparation
You may use a computer or handheld device of your preference. Upon entering the meeting, your audio will be toggled off by default. If you wish to speak to me or the group, please unmute yourself and remember to mute again afterward.
For the best experience, if possible, position your camera to provide a side view of your mat or chair. This allows for better observation and guidance during practice.
Once registered, you’ll receive a receipt via email containing a quick-link to the class. Click the link to join the session. If it’s your first time using Zoom, you may be guided through the installation or setup process before joining.
I will enter the class five to ten minutes early. Feel free to ask any questions about the session during this time or at the end of class. Looking forward to seeing you there!
